English Teachers of The World Unite!

Hi! My name is David, and I teach English here in North-central Brazil. Actually, I’ve been doing this for…oh…about 8 years or so. I love it!

But it wasn’t always like this. See…I actually quit teaching after my first semester of classes. I taught English in a major franchise…alot of grammar stuff. You know…the good ol’ verb ‘to be’ and all that other fun stuff.

I felt like I was just smashing my head against a brick wall. And I figured if I…the teacher felt like that…then just imagine how my students felt.

So, at the end of the semester…I told my boss goodbye…packed my bags…and hit the door. I traveled across the country for a while…did some other things in between. But I finally had a chance to give teaching English another try.

I mean…really! I learned English as a kid. Why do schools and teacher complicate things so much that a rational, thinking, intelligent adult can’t learn the language. I mean really! C’mon.

Did you know that 96% of English students give up before they are even able to communicate at a basic level?

So…anyway! I spent the next few years researching various approaches, methods, techniques…etc. I interviewed some of the best teachers I know and put together a small book called Super Teacher Interviews: Down In The Trenches With Five Of The World’s Best Foreign Language Teachers.

I am currently in the process of interviewing some of the best English students I know and putting them together in what I am calling the OK Success System v. 1.o1

It’s been a lot of fun…and I sure have learned a lot. So, I decided to put together this small site/blog…and see where this goes.
